Call to Worship:

HPS:
"You have not arrived here by chance.
 You have put yourself on this Path long ago.
 We shall walk some of it together and rejoice.
 We first began in past lives, in past joys.
 We were of the Faeries, gazing at the stars,
 Feeling deep unnamed secrets;
 Touching the Earth in joy and sensing life within;
 seeing birth and knowing that it is a miracle,
 a Mystery, a joy;
 Being still in the forest,
 Being warm in the water...
 We are all lights, and we follow the Path
 through the Goddess and the God,
 By all Their names,
 And in growing, we grow in brightness,
 Following the cycles Moon and Sun,
 And glowing in Divine Radiance."

(An Introduction to the Land of the Faeries)

HP:
"Right well I wrote, most mighty sovereign,
 That all this famous antique history
 Of some the abundance of an idle brain
 Will judged be, and painted forgery,
 Rather than matter of just memory,
 Since none that breatheth living air does know
 Where is that happy Land of Faerie
 Which I so much do vaunt, yet nowhere show,
 But vouch antiquities which nobody can know."

(Harp interlude. Faeries flit.)

HP: "And now I will cast our Circle."

     "I cast this Circle, 'round and 'round,
      By it's magick we are bound."

HPS: "And now I cleanse our Circle,

     "By water and salt I purify,
      Our sacred space 'twixt Earth and sky."

HP: "And now with air and feather I mark our space."

     "I bless this space with air and feather,
      In sacred light we meet together."

HPS:
"Sacred space within myself,
 Earth and Sky, Light and Health,
 Blessings of the Goddess shine,
 Bring to us thy love Divine,
 As above, it is below,
 Now peace and love around us grow,
 Be we Witch, Faerie, or Elf,
 Sacred space, we call ourself."

(Faeries move to quarter positions.)

HP: "And now we invite the Quarters."

Peaseblossom: (East)
"Come join us Faeries of the Clouds,
 Come to us from the East,
 Creatures of Air, dreams and magic.
 Bring us your imagination and inspiration.
 Blessed be."

(Light candle. Harp flourish.)

Mustardseed: (South)
"Come join us, Pixies with your Fiery Wings.
 Come to us from the South,
 Soaring with your companions, the dragonflies;
 Bring us your flashing blaze of light and passion.
 Blessed be."

(Light candle. Harp flourish.)

Moth: (West)
"Come join us Undines of the Sea.
 Come to us from the West.
 Show us our connection to one another;

 please grace us with your presence.
 Come join us and be in our midst
 with the troops and solitaires of your fairy court."

(Regal harp flourish.)

HPS:
"Oberon, King of the Fairies and Consort to Titania,
 Please grace us with your presence.
 Be with us, beside your radiant lady,
 For we have magick to work here tonight."

(Regal harp flourish.)

(Titania and Oberson enter from South and process around front.
Faeries flit.)

HP:
      "The Circle is cast!
       The Bell is rung,
       The Candles are lit,
       The Chant is sung.
       The Book is opened,
       The Altar is set,
       The Cauldron is stirred,
       The Group is met.
       We now proclaim to everyone
       That our Ritual has begun."

HPS:
       "We are between the worlds,
        Beneath the waning Moon,
        Beyond the bounds of time,
        Where day and night,
        Birth and death,
        Joy and sorrow,
        Meet as one."

HP: "Our Lady Titania!"

(Faeries flit.)

Queen Titania:
  "Out of this wood do not desire to go:
   Thou shalt remain here, whether thou wilt or no.
   I am a spirit of no common rate;
   This spring still doth tend upon my state;
   And I do love thee: therefore, go with me;
   I'll give thee fairies to attend on thee,
   And they shall fetch thee jewels from the deep,
   And sing while thou on pressed flowers dost sleep;
   And I will purge thy mortal grossness so
   That thou shalt like an airy spirit go."

(Faeries flit and pester Oberon.)

Oberon:

"Humbug! We live in troubled times. Now is the moment of the
 waning moon. Now is the time when we cast aside the negative
 forces that crowd upon us."

HPS:
"What are you ready to banish. We will give you a chip of wood.
 Think what you choose to banish
 and simply press the chip against your forehead
 To receive your thoughts."

(Harp interlude. Faeries pass out wood chips.)

HP:
"As we raise these ancient chants,
 Toss your chip into the cauldron."

(HP and HPS toss chips into cauldron.)

HP: "For this, we need a wizard!"

HPS: "And now, Fine Wizard, come forth and please to stir the
      magick cauldron."

(Wizard enters to harp flourish and circles front.)

Wizard:
"Double, double toil and trouble,
 Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
 Fillet of fenny snake,
 In the cauldron boil and bake.
 Eye of newt and toe of frog,
 Wool of bat and tongue of dog."

All:
"And now about the cauldron sing
 Like elves and faeries in a ring,
 Enchanting all that you put in."

(Peaseblossom, East Faerie, tosses chip into cauldron, bringing
some from the audience. Harp flourish.)

Wizard:
"Round about the cauldron go;
 In the poison'd entrails throw.
 Toad, that under cold stone
 Days and nights hast thirty-one
 Swelter'd venom sleeping got,
 Boil thou first in this charmed pot."

All:
"And now about the cauldron sing,
 Like elves and fairies in a ring,
 Enchanting all that you put in."

(Mustardseed, South Faerie, tosses chip into cauldron, bringing
some from the audience. Harp flourish)

Wizard:
"Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
 Lizard's leg, and howlet's wing,
 For a charm of powerful trouble,
 Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
 Fillet of a fenny snake,
 In the cauldron boil and bake."

All:
"And now about the cauldron sing,
 Like elves and fairies in a ring,
 Enchanting all that you put in."

(Moth, West Faerie, tosses chip into cauldron, bringing some from
the audience. Harp flourish.)

Wizard:
"Scale of dragon, tooth of wolf,
 Witches' mummy, maw and gulf
 Of the ravin'd salt-sea shark,
 Root of hemlock digg'd i' the dark
 Sliver'd in the moon's eclipse,
 Nose of Bush, and Sadam's lips."

All:
"And now about the cauldron sing,
 Like elves and fairies in a ring,
 Enchanting all that you put in."

(Cobweb, North Faerie, tosses chip into cauldron, bringing the
rest from the audience.)

(Wizard carries the cauldron outside and dumps it into the fire.
Harp interlude.)

HPS: "We have dealt with our banishings.
 It remains for us to keep ourselves safe.
 We must bind these sinister forces
 from turning back upon us."

HP:
"Weaving spiders, come not here;
 Hence, you long-legg'd spinners, hence!
 Beetles black, approach not near;
 Worm nor snail, do no offence."

HPS:
     "Nightingale, with melody,
      Sing in our sweet lullaby;
      Never harm,
      Nor spell nor charm,
      Come, our lovely lady nigh;
      To those things bad, we say, Goodbye."

HP:
"You spotted snakes with double tongue,
 Thorny hedgehogs, be not seen;
 Newts and blind-worms, do no wrong;
 Come not near our fairy queen."

HPS:
     "Nightingale, with melody,
      Sing in our sweet lullaby;
      Never harm,
      Nor spell nor charm,
      Come, our lovely lady nigh;
      To those things bad, we say, Goodbye."

(Harp interlude.)

HP: "And now our magickal working is done. We come together in
community. For whatever forces rage beyond our borders, we can
still claim a peace within us. it's time for Cakes, not Ale.
Cakes."

(Titania calls her faeries:)

 "Enter Faeries Peaseblossom, Cobweb, Moth, and Mustardseed)

Queen Titania:
"Be kind and courteous to these gentlefolk;
 Attend to them and dance within their view;
 Feed them with apricots and raspberries,
 With purple grapes, green figs, and mulberries;
 The honey-bags steal from the bumble-bees,
 And for torches crop their waxen thighs
 And light them at the fiery glow-worm's eyes,
 Light their way to bed and arise;
 And pluck the wings from painted butterflies
 To fan the moonbeams from their sleeping eyes:
 Nod to them, elves, and do them courtesies."

(Faeries start passing out colorful cookies.)

Oberon:

 "Share in these treats and community. We have magick, and the
  Magick of each other." (Expand)
