Outside in the Dark of the Moon

The Moon is in the Fourth Quarter. Here is the text of the Musical
Ritual we presented with Faerie Elaine, MuunPillo and Spelcastor.
The music is drawn from her five CDs:

                      G1 I Choose Love
G2 The Lady of the Lake
                      G3 Divine Favorites
                      G4 Faerie Goddess
G5 Faeries, Dreams & Other Friends

(Elaine has two microphones, guitar and stool. The Spel stands to
her left and there are two small Faeries. There is an altar to the
right between Elaine and Spel.)

(Spel welcomes audience to this ritual.)

Spel: "`Tis time to return to the Old Ways. Relax. Let your mind
wander. We take a step outside of the mundane, and enjoy the magick
of Faerie Elaine Silver. We will invoke, the Goddess in her many
aspects, the Goddess of the Moon."

G2/8: `Tis Time - Now We Take a Step Outside the Mundane:

Spel:
"The Dark of the Moon approaches, and it is time for the Gathering.
Envision a Faerie as she enters walking through the mists in her
valley towards the high ground where the evening ritual will be
held. She are eager to be with her friends gathering in communion."

(As the music plays, MuunPillo enters carrying a candle. She
circles the circle docile before stepping to the altar.)

G4/1: Divine Emotion - a Call to Worship:

Muun: "Next we will call the quarters to our sacred Circle.
As the directions are named, the Faeries, will light each quarter
candle: East, South, West, North." (Narrator salutes each quarter.)

G4/2: Calling All Directions - Blessing the Circle:

Spel: "Now that we have prepared our space, we invite the
Goddess to extend to us her blessing and guidance." (Spel and
Muun raise arms in Goddess position to Elaine as she begins
singing. Half way through, Spel kneels.)

G1/4: Call on the Moon - The Goddess joins us

Muun: "The little people were here first. Legend has it that there
were more peaceful times before invading tribes came from the East.
The invaders brought with them weapons of iron. Tools of bronze
were no match. In honor of the little people, some spiritual
traditions include no iron among their altar tools today."

(Spell, Muun and Faeries dance around circle inviting children, wee
faeries, and others to join them.)

G4/8: In Days Gone By - The Age of the Faeries:

Spel: "We now share a history lesson. We look back to the time of
the tyranny of patriarchy. We invoke the Goddess in seven of the
many aspects by she was known in ancient times."

Spel: "Isis - Egyptian Goddess, she enfolds us within her wings."

Muun: "Astarte - Canaanite Goddess of the sacred groves."

Spel: "Diana - Roman Goddess of the Hunt, champion of women and
with a taste for men."

Muun: "Hekate - Greek, maybe Celtic, Goddess of the crossroads."

Spel: "Demeter - Goddess of the Earth, the harvest, and the return
of spring."

Muun: "Kali - Hindu Goddess of War, destruction, and
transformation."

Spel: "Inanna - Mother Goddess of Mesopotamia who descended into
the Underworld to meet her Dark Sister"

Spel: "Join us as the chant comes around"

(With power)

Isis, Astarte, Diana - Hekate, Demeter, Kali - Inanna.

Isis, Astarte, Diana - Hekate, Demeter, Kali - Inanna.

G4/10: Burning Times - A History Lesson or Guided Meditation:

Muun: "The Goddess offers a blessing to the Children of the Moon,
and a story of magick."

(During the song, the Spel and Muun will empower some Moon Water.
They circle around to the front of the altar. They raise up the
water pitcher and pour with great flourish into the water chalice.
Together they present the chalice to the four quarters and Faerie
Elaine to bless it.)

G1/9: The Faerie Blessing Song

Spel: "The Goddess offers an anointing to the Children of the
Moon. We are so bold in our early years. Our confidence is perhaps
later dashed. The Goddess assures us that we are beloved and
connected."

Spel: "The Faeries will pass among you and bless you with a dash of
moon water."

(During song, the Muun and Spel carry the bowl and branches. With
sweeping gestures they dip branches into the water and sprinkle
everyone for the aspersing.

G4/5: How Could Anyone - A Song to Children of the Moon:

Muun: "You might visualize angels at the quarters and a healing
light restoring you. The full moon of each month has a name.
January is the Cold Moon. June is the Faerie Moon. The second full
moon in a month is called a Blue Moon and occurs `one in
thirteen.'" The next Blue Moon will be in June of this year."

Spel: "We raise energy through dancing. Stand with left hand up -
right hand down."

Muun: "Left palm up - right palm down. Receive energy from the
person on your left and pass it to the person on your right. We
will dance dosile (clockwise) with a step befitting a waltz."

(Left palm up - Right palm down. Faeries step about the Circle
inviting others to join in and take their hand. What follows is a
spiral dance.)

G4/3: The Blue Moon Song/Faeries (June) Moon - Raising the Energy:

Spel: "The Goddess bids us farewell. But she is always with us. We
are each a Child of the Moon. When you might feel disconnected,
remember, we are not alone."

G1/11: I Will

(Move right into next song. Using a snuffer, Muun extinguishes the
four quarter Torches starting with the north and moving
widdershins. Spel salutes each quarter. Faeries return to the
altar.)

G4/13: By the Earth - Opening the Circle:

Muun: "The ritual is ended, go in peace. We thank 'Faerie' Elaine
Silver for her wonderful music for our rite."

"Stay if you will, leave if you must, go in peace."
