Bless the altar, symbols and tools of the ritual.
The High Priest anoints the High Priestess with Holy Oil.
The High Priestess anoints the High Priest with Holy Oil.
The Herald calls forth the members of the Covenant, saying,
"GATHER AROUND THE SACRED GROUND THOSE WHO WOULD STAND
BEFORE THE GODS TONIGHT. COME IN STRENGTH AND
GOODNESS AND PEACE. COME IN LOVE AND COME IN
LIGHT."
The High Priest rings bell 3 times.
The High Priest and High Priestess welcome the members of the Covenant
into the Temple area by blessing their brows with Holy Oil. (If necessary the
Quarters will assist.)
The High Priestess raises arms and says,
"DARKNESS IS DARKNESS, AND LIGHT IS LIGHT.
BUT TRUTH IS ETERNAL BE IT DAY OR NIGHT."
All repeat.
Call forth the Watchtowers.

The High Priest says, "BEHOLD THE CIRCLE OF THE MOONPATH
CHAPTER OF CUUPS."
All say, "GLORY TO THE ALMIGHTY, GREAT AND SACRED
CREATOR WHO IS KNOWN BY MANY NAMES."
The High Priestess says, "BEHOLD, THY SOUL IS A LIVING STAR
SHINING AMONG ITS BRETHREN."
All say, "MAY I LOOK UPON MY SOUL AND MY SHADOW."
The High Priest says, "THOU ART PURE. THY KA IS PURE. THY
SOUL IS PURE. THY FORM IS PURE."
The High Priestess says, please repeat the Articles of Faith,
"I BELIEVE IN THE SACRED GODDESS...."
The High Priest invites the Divine presence of the Lord and gives
salutations in His name.
The High Priestess invites the Divine presence of the Lady and gives
salutations in Her name.
The High Priest rings bell 3 times.
The High Priest calls forth the Sabbat Sage -
The Words of the Sabbat Sage
SABBAT RITUAL:
High Priestess: Great Goddess, Mother and Creatrix Divine, before
you I stand as your servant as in times of olde,
So through me and before your children may your
love shine as it fills my soul.
High Priest: Great God, Father and Creator Divine, as your
servant in times long past before you I stand,
So though me and before your children may your love
spread and cover the land.
(High Priestess sweeps the circle with a broom and then kneels in front of
the altar, whereupon the High Priest places a veil upon her brow.)
High Priest: We gather this night to honor you and the fruit of
your womb, where new life now stirs through winter's
dark gloom.
All raise arms and repeat:
Glory to the Sacred Goddess and may she bless the Earth.
The High Priest lifts the High Priestess to her feet and removes the veil.
Then he removes his black cloak and the High Priestess's black cloak and
lights two candles, giving one to the High Priestess.
High Priest: The light of my seed I have given to you, so that it
may be nurtured and grow anew.
High Priestess: Your seed I have received and life now grows inside
as it does in all the Earth with the changing tides.
To all I shall give blessings of hope renewed through
the light of life, may it shine true.
High Priestess blesses the basket of candles by saying:
"I bless the creatures of wax and light
Serve your purpose, flaming bright
Infused with magick, you shall be
Wick and wax, though you may be
I give you life of needed length
Be the instruments of light and strength
If Candlemas day be fair and bright
Winter will have another flight
But if it be dark with clouds and rain
Winter is gone and will not come again
For I am Brigid, she of many names
And with this light you become my living flame
Burn this candle and sing me praise
As it was done in elder days!
In fertile darkness life grows into birth
Thus with this light do we banish Winter from the Earth
Awake! O Earth from your slumber,
See the lights and hear the rumble
Awake! O Sun and restore the Earth
And grant fertility to home and hearth
Ever mindful of the law of three
I bless these candles, So Mote It Be!"
High Priest: Brigid's bed is ready for all to see, it contains the
mystery of what shall be. The candles are ready so
form two lines, and behold the mystery and what it
divines. Does it bode a long Winter or an early
Spring? What ever it is, let our hearts sing (While
singing "We All Come From The Goddess".)
High Priest: At this time we are going to play a version of the
candle game in which a group of men will stand in a
circle and pass a lit candle deosil from one to the
other. A group of women will form a circle around
the men and try to blow out the candle as it is passed
around. When a woman blows out the candle, the
man holding it shall kiss her feet. The candle is then
relit and the game continues.
The High Priest rings bell 3 times.
The High Priestess says, please repeat the Affirmation of Power,
"I AM THE CENTER OF ALL THINGS..."
Cakes and Ale. The High Priestess and the High Priest bless the cakes
and ale, plus the other food and drink to be consumed after the ritual.

"THOU ART A LAMP UNTO MY FEET..."
The High Priestess renders closing salutations to the Lady.
